What is Handball?
Handball is a fast-paced team sport played throughout five continents by over 180 countries and 19 million people all ages, worldwide. First introduced as an outdoor sport during the 1939 Summer Olympics program, handball has since been an indoor sport in the Summer Olympics program since 1972.
Handball is still a developing sport in New Zealand, however Wellington has largest player base in the country. Currently Wellington has the largest club league with 6 men’s teams, and 4 women’s teams in our senior league. Wellington also has a developing school leagues for junior and senior teams.
